One World Media Awards 2012

Last week saw us produce the annual One World Media Awards event down in London. Presented by news presenter Jon Snow, the awards commended media teams and individuals across the developing world on their media coverage. There was quite a range of topics covered amongst the nominees and many of the stories documented in these works were quite shocking with regards to their content bringing to the worlds attention some of the hard hitting stories you don't always hear about which goes on!

In terms of the event, it took place at Kings Place near King's Cross station and the whole event went relatively smoothly, both the rig and the de-rig were nice and easy with many of the cable points we needed already patched in which made things much faster to setup. The staff were also really good, very helpful and they knew their stuff, they covered pretty much any request we had, were friendly and worked really hard to make sure we had all the support we would need!

The show itself was good and very varied with lots of interesting nominee video modules to break it up. Jon Snow was a dynamic and comfortable presenter (as you might expect!) and our decision to put a camera up on the balcony gave us some great alternate shots to keep it all interesting visually in between the other media.

An enjoyable and smooth event, I will definitely be looking forward to hopefully being part of it next year!
